The Self-Trust Audit

A mirror, not a measurement.

This isn't about how "good" you are at trusting yourself. It's a quiet look at where your inner knowing is already strong β€” and where you may have learned to override it. Give yourself five honest minutes.

Bring one decision to mind β€” something you're currently sitting with, big or small. You'll hold this same decision through every reflection below.

I.

Is this aligned with my values?

Not the values you were taught to perform β€” the ones that are actually yours. Where does this decision line up with what matters most to you, and where does it strain against it?

II.

Is there a fear underneath this?

If you strip away the research and the reassurance-seeking, what are you actually afraid will happen if you trust yourself here?

One sentence. Don't edit it.

III.

What do I feel in my body?

A held breath. A tight chest. Settled shoulders. A quiet exhale. Your nervous system knows things your mind hasn't caught up to yet β€” what is it telling you?

IV.

Whose voice is loudest right now?

A parent's. A mentor's. The internet's. The room's. Or yours. Which voice are you actually listening to when you think about this decision?

V.

Am I seeking wisdom, or outsourcing my knowing?

There's a difference. Have you already asked enough people? Done enough research? At what point did gathering information become a way to avoid deciding?

VI.

If I already knew the answer, what would it be?

Before any second opinion, before any more research β€” underneath all of it, there's usually a whisper. What is it saying?

One sentence. Don't edit it.

What I'm noticing

Read back through what you wrote. Where were you already certain? Where did you look outside yourself first?
